Not sure if it is trying to tell me that something plugged into the motherboard is not functioning or what it is that triggers cipset unknown device. I have the same question 2.

You may also try running the Windows Updates and install all the available updates including the optional driver and firmware updates. Since the issue persists, you need to get in touch with Nortech Support or Intel Support to check for Windows 8.
