I have a similar problem to Kissinuk and Caleb and have been trying for ages to get sound working in DOS games: My settings in my autoexec. Can you tell us rest of the hardware you are using? Creative SB16 Emulation woes. When Windows 98 is finished loading, try the DOS games and see if the sound works.
Tue May 04, 5: Caleb,had all those same errors mentioned too I think it is a problem apparently with the NForce2 motherboards chipset i guess.

My PC specs are now as follows: When I take the card out windows loads o k,but as soon as I try again with the card in,it crashes at the same point. Wed May 12, In Windows 98 the native audio works fine, but if i run any DOS games i will end with no sound. Board index All times are UTC. Wed May 12, 7: My Bios is updated to the latest version reserving IRQ5 in bios hasn’t help and i tried every SBlive driver that i found. I also tried the soundcard from the other PC with my recently copied hard drive and Hey Presto,it crashes when its trying to load the creative SB16 emulation. If upgrading to XP will help then I may go that route You should still be able to get sound in DOS games while Windows 98 is running, however.
Have you tried updating the drivers to suit your new system?
Emulattion windows detects the new hardware it loads some of the drivers for the soundcard but crashes to a blue screen when it is about to load the Creative SB16 emulation drivers. Display posts from previous:
